Association for Scottish Literature Schools Conference 2023

The annual ASL Schools Conference is a vital resource for teachers wishing to explore Scottish literature and language in the classroom, held annually on the first Saturday in October. This year, a team of experts will support teachers of English at Secondary, for BGE, National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher levels on 7 October 2023. A full event schedule is available on Eventbrite and while the in-person event is sold out, ASL hopes to stream the event on YouTube for all interested parties. UCSL will have a stall at this year’s event.

World Congress of Scottish Literatures 2024

The fourth World Congress of Scottish Literatures will be hosted by the School of English at the University of Nottingham, from Wednesday 3rd to Sunday 7th July 2024. With goals of connecting scholars and situating Scotland in a global and transnational scope, the success of previous events suggests that this Congress is not one to be missed.

There is no specific theme for the Congress, and a Call for Papers has been issued with a deadline of 31st October 2023. Interested parties can find further information and register to receive updates about the event on the University of Nottingham’s website.
